February 4–8 Five new episodes of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, titled "Mister Rogers Talks About No and Yes", premiered on PBS. These were episodes #1541–1545.

Reruns of the old series for this year began afterwards.

By the end of this year, a total of 155 out of 390 remaining episodes of the old series of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood reran on PBS, having previously aired from October 18, 1982 to June 24, 1983, while those that previously aired in 1984 did not air again until June 1986 at the earliest.
