The current design of the $20 bill was released to circulation on October 9, 2003 as a Series 2004.

Also, the $2 bill was reintroduced exclusively to the Federal Reserve District of Minneapolis as a Series 2003, with serial numbers up to "I 25600000 B". However, none were released to circulation until 2004.
