Planned since January 1993, Aladdin was released on video on October 1, 1993, and became the best-selling video of that year. Both Pinocchio and Aladdin returned to moratorium on April 30, 1994, before The Return of Jafar was released.
The laserdisc also includes the documentary "The Making of Aladdin: A Whole New World", first seen on the Disney Channel on November 15, 1992. In addition, Aladdin was the second Disney animated feature to be presented in letterbox widescreen.
