The second season of Arthur premiered on PBS in October 1997. This season was funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Viewers Like You, the National Endowment for Children's Educational Television, The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations, Libby's Juicy Juice, Baby Gap, and Polaroid.
The first 10 episodes aired in 1997, while the other 10 episodes premiered in April 1998. The first reruns of the first 10 episodes occurred from December 15–26, 1997. They aired again from March 23 to April 3, 1998, followed by the premiere of the second half of Season 2 from April 6–17. The whole season then reran for the first time from June 1–26, 1998, and again from August 10 to September 4, 1998, and from October 19 to November 13, 1998.
During Season 3, the National Endowment for Children's Educational Television and The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations left the show, as so did Polaroid. Thus, they were omitted from further reruns of this season starting on those from November 30 to December 25, 1998. The second season aired again from April 19 to May 14, 1999.
After Post Alpha-Bits joined the show, reruns with this underwriter occurred from July 19 to August 13, 1999. This was followed by the U.S. Department of Education in late 1999, then Lego replacing Baby Gap in 2000, Chuck E. Cheese's replacing Lego in 2002, Teddy Grahams replacing Post Alpha-Bits in 2004, and Dannon Danimals replacing Rhodes 60-Second Cinnamon Rolls in 2006. All of the following also applied to Season 1.
