Barney's Birthday was the first ever Barney & Friends VHS release from Barney Home Video, an alternate name for The Lyons Group. When Barney's Best Manners was released on VHS, this tape was re-packaged with new cover artwork.
The Season 1 episode in this VHS is "Happy Birthday, Barney!". After the episode is a screen that says: "This episode of Barney & Friends was produced with financial assistance from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Public Broadcasting Service."
Synopsis[]
It's party time for Barney and his friends! Barney is having a birthday, and his friends throw him the best party ever, using classroom materials and lots of imagination! Along with the fun and games, like Musical Chairs (which you don't see in this video) and Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Barney and his friends are introduced to birthday customs from other parts of the world. Kathy learns that gifts are not the most important part of birthdays.
