Cartoon Network's only digital cable television network, Boomerang, launched on April 1, 2000.

While Boomerang is only presented in standard definition (480i/480p), it can easily be upscaled to high definition (720p/1080i), if you have a proper digital cable set-top box.

Today, less than half of America's entire population receives Boomerang (usually, for a  subscription to digital cable that's not strong enough, or probably because some providers do not even carry the channel). However, it does offer a video-on-demand service bundled with Cartoon Network.

Title Premiere date
(first known)
(or last aired)
Pokémon July 31, 2006 February 6, 2017
Sonic Boom October 8, 2015 March 30, 2018

The network's programs mainly consist of shows that are either Cartoon Network's original programs or those that were moved to the Cartoon Network after several years of broadcasting on their own respective networks, as they are mostly owned by Hanna-Barbera, Turner Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Animation.

For the very first time, Boomerang introduced a new logo in October 2014, which didn't quite appear on the channel itself until January 2015, when it was broadcasting reruns of the very first season of Pokemon.
