Synopsis[]
The story begins with Harry not in the Dursleys' house, but in the Weasleys' house. Harry is invited with the Weasleys to the 422nd Quidditch World Cup. After the match, Death Eaters appear to torment all the Muggles. At the start of the school year, there is a new teacher -- Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, as Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. Also during Harry's fourth year, there is a Triwizard Tournament, in which there's four champions -- Cedric Diggory (a seventh year Hufflepuff), Fleur Delacour (from the Beauxbatons), and Viktor Krum (the best Seeker of the Quidditch World Cup), and last but not least, Harry Potter. The first task is to rescue a golden egg from a violent dragon, the Hungarian Horntail. Inside the egg is a clue for the second task. The second task is to retrieve something important under the Black Lake. Finally, the third task takes place in a maze, where the Triwizard Cup awaits. It is actually a portkey to an old cemetery. While they are here, Wormtail (nickname for Peter Pettigrew) steps in and kills Cedric. He also stuns Harry and takes a little of his blood to revive Lord Voldemort. He challenges Harry to a duel, and the wands cause a Priori Incantatem. Spirits appear, and tell Harry to go back to Hogwarts with Cedric's dead body. When the entire crowd finds out that Cedric was killed, Moody takes Harry away, and reveals himself to be Barty Crouch Jr.
