Set in Ponyland, the series revolves around seven female anthropomorphic ponies: Starlight, Sweetheart, Melody, Bright Eyes, Patch, Clover and Bon Bon. Unlike in the original series, the Tales ponies attend school, visit the ice cream shop, enter talent contests, and roller skate. Songs are also performed by the ponies in every episode.

Title Synopsis
1 Bon Bon's Diary After losing her diary in which she has confessed to cheating on a math test, Bon Bon must decide what to do.
2 Just for Kicks With the big game coming up Starlight can't help but figure out a way to get the attention of her crush.
3 Slumber Party When Patch tells a ghost story at Sweetheart's sleepover, the Ponies venture into the attic after they hear noises coming from upstairs.
4 Too Sick to Notice
5 The Battle of the Bands When Melody forgets to get a babysitter so that she can perform in the Battle of the Bands, she takes her siblings with her to the show.
6 And the Winner Is...
7 Stand By Me When Melody's new cassette player goes missing, everyone blames Teddy for taking it.
8 The Tea Party The ponies see strangers leaving the clubhouse. Starlight convinces everyone to set up booby traps to scare the intruders away.
9 The Masquerade When the class scores well on their test they are awarded with a Masquerade party.
10 Out of Luck Clover finds a teapot she thinks would be great for her clubhouse, but then experiences a run of bad luck.
11 The Play's the Thing Melody is cast as the lead in the school play and lets her ego get in the way.
12 Shop Talk When Sweetheart accidentally reveals that Teddy owns a teddy bear, Ace and Lancer begin to tease him.
13 Blue Ribbon Blues Attempting to impress Sweetheart, Teddy takes her to his cousin's farm.
14 Roll Around the Clocks When Bright Eyes and Lancers friends find out that they like each other, they try to show them how to impress each other.
15 Princess Problems The King and Queen of Ponyland search for their daughter, the ponies begin to believe that Patch may be the Princess they are looking for.

17 Up, Up and Away Ms. Hackney has a friend bring his hot air balloon to school for the class to see.
18 Sister of the Bride With her sister getting married, all Clover wants to do his to help make the wedding a beautiful event.
19 Birds of a Feather When Bright Eyes and her friends want to go searching for the mysterious and endangered Green Wing Song Bird, they go on an adventure through the woods.
20 Send in the Clown
21 Ponies in Paradise When Patchs' practical joking begins to annoy and have serious effects on her friends, they decide to prank her back.
22 Who's Responsible The ponies need to buy a new tea set and decide to raise money with a lemonade stand.
23 The Impractical Joker Teddy causes the ponies to lose their synchronized swimming competition and Sweethearts friends insist she un-invite him to her birthday party.
24 The Great Lemonade Stand Wars
25 Happy Birthday Sweetheart
26 Gribet Bright Eyes attends a study abroad program on a tropical island. When Bright Eyes discovers there is a large polluter in Ponyland, the ponies learn that the one responsible may be closer to them then they think.

Home video release

The first ever worldwide DVD release of My Little Pony Tales occurred on August 16, 2004 in the UK, in which only 10 episodes were available.

All 26 11-minute episodes were released on DVD by Shout! Factory in a 2-disc boxset on April 28, 2015.

Shout! Factory discontinued the DVD boxset as of March 16, 2021, but the complete series can still be viewed for free on Tubi TV and several other streaming services.
