Five days after the WB Network launched on television, another over-the-air network called UPN (United Paramount Network) commenced broadcasts as well. The network was seen in place of independent television stations that were most affiliated with Paramount Television. UPN was owned by Viacom International.
On September 15, 2006, UPN was replaced by MyNetworkTV, which today, is owned by 20th Television.
Children's programming
UPN Kids launched on the same weekend as Kids' WB. However, it only lasted for four years, and ended right before Sonic Underground premiered on syndication. Some UPN stations have also aired Pokémon from 1998 to 1999.
