Uncommon Bond is the 24th Season 7 episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Footage from this episode was revealed on October 7, 2017, and the episode premiered on October 21.

Synopsis[]

When Starlight gets a visit from Sunburst she discovers that he has tons in common with her friends and starts to wonder if he still has anything in common with her.

Production timeline[]

January 28, 2016	An episode titled "Magic is Friendship" was planned, where Sunburst was to come and visit Starlight, without Trixie involved at all.
March 22, 2016	The third set of loglines for Season 7 was written. One of the episodes in the third set was "Mind Over Matters", which has appeared to replace "Magic is Friendship". This time, Twilight and Starlight both go to the Crystal Empire to visit Sunburst.
May 24, 2016	Premise written by Kevin Lappin.
June 20, 2016	Outline written. At this stage, the episode starts off with Sunburst's arrival from the Crystal Empire.
July 7, 2016	First draft of the script written.
July 27–August 15, 2016	Second draft of the script written. Episode retitled "Uncommon Bond" on August 12; by that date, all 26 episodes of Season 7 now had their final official titles.
September 1–6, 2016	Final draft written.
September 12, 2016	Script locked polish.
September 14–October 19, 2016	Voice recording in session.
January 24, 2017	Animatic submitted for review.
June 26, 2017	Client cut of animated episode submitted for review.
July 31, 2017	Musical score added.
August 14, 2017	Final revisions made to the episode.
